Hi
I purchased the Remoska about 1 year ago from the Ipswich Branch, I also brought a plug in timer, I would highly recommend this for working people- food can be prepared the night before placed in the fridge overnight in the remoska cooking pot, take it out of the fridge, connect everything up set your timer to come on and dinner is ready to eat when I come home, nice and hot and a lovely smell greets me when I come home from work, in the summer time I take food out of the freezer frozen and let it defrost in the remoska and then the timer kicks in, this way is much better than a slow cooker and I have saved money using the remoska on my electric bills.

Hi Roslyn
Thank you for your excellent tip, we are sure other Remoska users will be interested. We have indeed used the same technique ourselves and it does make life easier for us working folk.
Best Wishes.

Hello!
can you let me know if it's possible to bake potatoes in these and approximately how long would they take-
Thanks ever so for any info
Jan C

Dear Jan
In reply to your query, I'm glad you have found our website, and am only too happy to confirm that baked potatoes are excellent when cooked in the Remoska. Just cover with a little oil and leave them for about an hour, depending on size, and they will be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. See our Cookbook ‘Remoska Cookbook’ for recipe suggestions.
Please let us know if you have any more queries.

My wife is considering buying a Remoska but wondered if you had to seal meat ie, beef first before cooking in the Remoska. Your advice would be appreciated as it appears to be excellent cookware.
Many thanks
Michael J A S

In reply to your query, it depends on the recipe you are using. A lot of our recipes in our cook book suggest sealing the meat first, which you could do either in a frying pan, or in the Remoska itself, having first heated the oil in the Remoska for five/ten minutes. However, if you were cooking a small joint of beef or lamb, say, it isn't really necessary, as there is very little evaporation from the Remoska and the meat is cooked in its own juices. Also you can cook your joint (or chicken) in a roastabag in the Remoska (see the pictures on our picture gallery).
I hope this helps.

Hi
I would like to purchase a remoska cooking pot, but would like to know if it
is suitable for the following use.
a) for cooking stews for about 5/6 hours
b) for cooking chicken and shop brought sauces i.e. chicken tonight
Many Thank's
Mrs J I

Hi
In reply to your query, you can cook stews in the Remoska, but initially with very little liquid, which needs to be topped up as it evaporates, so you couldn't go away and leave it for say 5/6 hours. You would probably also need to cover the meat with a thick layer of foil to slow the cooking down. In other words, the Remoska is not a 'slow cooker'. The Remoska cooks chicken pieces with the ready-made sauces beautifully in about half an hour – what I do at home is put sliced vegetables in first to cook with a little olive oil, and when they are part cooked (say a quarter of an hour), I place the chicken on top, together with the sauce, and after about 20 minutes everything is cooked and ready to serve straight from the Remoska!

Hi my best friend (my remoska) is four years old and is still a loved and valued part of my family .. We share the same kitchen and it just loves to go camping. It also has many relatives that live with my famiiy and freinds. Unfortunateley the once beautiful shiny lid is no longer glamorous do you have any top tips on restoring "moska" to her former glory.Thanks.  Kind regards

Hi Jayne
We would recommend you use Lakeland's stainless steel cleaner.

We have just bought a Remoska and I must say it is the most wonderful bit of kit in my kitchen. As an ex-professional chef I am fussy and often disappointed in new 'gadgets', but this is not a gadget it is a truly bone-fide pice of serious cooking gear. Just one thing would improve the Remoska and that is a lid which could be used to help keep food warm when it is placed in the centre of the table as we do to allow people to dig in and help themselves.  That aside I can't fault it, thank you for bringing it over here.
Kind regards,
Kevin L

Hi Kevin
I'm afraid there are no plans at the moment for a 'keep warm lid' – we just use a spare one from the kitchen that fits.
